Osteopathy at OM

Restoring Balance. Supporting the Body’s Natural Wisdom.

At OM Integrative Healthcare, we believe the body is remarkably intelligent.

Osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on form of manual therapy that recognizes the body as an interconnected whole. Rather than focusing solely on where symptoms appear, osteopathic treatment seeks to understand how all systems of the body work together—and how restrictions in one area can influence function elsewhere.

When the body is moving and functioning as it was designed to, health can flourish. When patterns of compensation develop due to injury, stress, posture, pregnancy, illness, or everyday life, discomfort and dysfunction can follow.

Osteopathy aims to restore balance, improve mobility, and support the body’s innate capacity for self-healing and self-regulation.

Rooted in principles that have guided osteopathic care since the late 1800s, this approach remains one of the most holistic and patient-centered forms of manual therapy available today.

A Gentle Yet Powerful Approach

Osteopathic treatment uses subtle, precise manual techniques to assess and support the body’s structural and functional relationships.

By working with muscles, joints, fascia, circulation, nerves, and connective tissues, osteopathy helps improve movement, reduce tension, and encourage optimal function throughout the body.

Treatments are gentle, non-invasive, and tailored entirely to your individual needs.

Many patients describe their sessions as deeply relaxing, while also noticing meaningful improvements in comfort, mobility, and overall well-being.

What to Expect

Your first osteopathic appointment is an opportunity to slow down and be heard.

During your initial assessment, Alex or Dryden will take the time to understand your health history, discuss your concerns, evaluate movement patterns, and develop a treatment plan that reflects your unique goals.

Appointments are never rushed. We believe meaningful care begins with understanding the whole person.

For your visit, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement, such as leggings, athletic wear, shorts, or a loose-fitting t-shirt.

Initial Assessment: 45–60 minutes

Follow-Up Visits: 20–30 minutes

Is Osteopathy Right for You?

Osteopathy is suitable for people of all ages and stages of life.

From newborn babies adjusting to life outside the womb, to expectant mothers navigating the changes of pregnancy, to active adults and seniors seeking greater comfort and mobility, osteopathic care can provide meaningful support throughout every season of life.

You don’t need to be injured to benefit from treatment.

Many patients choose osteopathy as part of a proactive wellness routine, helping identify areas of restriction before they develop into larger concerns.

At OM, we believe some of the best healthcare is preventative healthcare.

Regular maintenance and alignment can help your body move more efficiently, recover more effectively, and feel its best.

Common Reasons People Seek Osteopathic Care

Osteopathy may help support:

  • Joint pain and stiffness
  • Neck and back discomfort
  • Athletic injuries and recovery
  • Muscle tension and spasms
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Inflammation and swelling
  • Digestive concerns in adults and infants
  • Pregnancy-related discomforts
  • Postural imbalances
  • Seasonal congestion and sinus pressure
  • General mobility and wellness

Because osteopathy addresses the body as a whole, treatment often extends beyond the area where symptoms are being experienced.

The goal isn’t simply to reduce discomfort—it’s to improve overall function.

Pregnancy, Babies & Families

One of the most rewarding aspects of osteopathic care is its ability to support families through every stage of life.

Many patients first visit us during pregnancy, using osteopathy to ease physical discomfort, support changing biomechanics, and promote greater comfort throughout their journey.

We then have the privilege of welcoming their babies into the clinic after birth.

Birth is an incredible process—but it can also be physically demanding for both mother and baby. Gentle osteopathic treatment can help support adaptation, movement, comfort, and overall well-being during those early months.

It’s a beautiful continuum of care that we’re honoured to provide.

Insurance Coverage

Many extended health benefit plans include coverage for osteopathic services.

Coverage varies between providers and policies, so we recommend checking directly with your insurance company if you’re unsure of your eligibility.
